Research shows that those
students that are actively involved in music are more likely to achieve success
in both the academic environment and in society.
In 2019, Clifton State School commenced
an exciting venture for a small, regional school, to offer an Instrumental
Music program to our students. This is a fully-funded Instrumental Music
program, through Education Queensland, which offers multi-strand instruments.
Students at Clifton in Year 3 - 6 can learn instruments from the brass,
woodwind or percussion families.
The cost of the Instrumental
Music program is just $40 per year, which equates to $1 per lesson each week. The
Clifton State School Instrumental Music program is delivered as 30 minute lessons,
in small groups, and during school hours to students.
Hire of an instrument is also
available. With thanks to Gift of Music and Rural Aid, Clifton State School now
owns instruments for students to hire at a cost of $40 per year.
Lessons occur each Wednesday with
our Instrumental Music teacher, Mrs Nichols, and our school band meets at
10.30am for practice.
